Worshiping the Redeemer
Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Worship God
Scripture: For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: – Job 19:25
Job’s declaration of faith comes from the middle of his deepest suffering: ‘I know that my redeemer liveth.’ This is the anchor of our worship. We do not worship a dead historical figure; we worship a living Redeemer who stands with us in our present struggles and will stand upon the earth in the end. This realization should transform our corporate worship from a somber routine into a vibrant celebration of our rescue. He is the one who has bought us back from the edge of destruction, and He is with us right now.
As you prepare to gather with your church family fix your heart on the person of Jesus. Remember what He has redeemed you from and where He is leading you. Let your songs today be a bold affirmation of His life and His reign. You are participating in a victory that is already won. When the music starts sing not from a place of tradition but from the personal profound gratitude of a soul that knows its Redeemer lives. He is worthy of every note you offer.
Prompt: As you prepare for corporate worship, does the reality that Jesus has redeemed you fill you with awe?
Action Step: Sunday worship is the gathering of the redeemed to sing the praises of the One who bought them back from the slave market of sin.
