Worshiping the King
Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Worship God
Scripture: Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. – 1 Timothy 1:17
As the calendar flips, our worship reminds us that while our time is fleeting, our King is eternal. He is the ‘immortal, invisible, only wise God.’ Worshiping Him at the close of a year is a profound act of humility—we are acknowledging that we are part of a story that is much bigger than our own brief chapters. When we worship the King eternal, our concerns about the past year and our anxieties about the next are placed in their proper perspective. He is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end.
As you join in corporate worship today bring your whole heart. Release the year that has passed and offer it to Him. Bring your expectations for the year to come and place them under His sovereign rule. Let your song be one of total adoration for the One who reigns forever. You are standing before the King of kings—may your worship be a fitting tribute to His eternal glory. Go into the new year with your eyes fixed on His throne.
Prompt: Does your corporate worship acknowledge the absolute sovereignty and majestic kingship of God?
Action Step: Sunday worship is our opportunity to bow before the King of Kings, declaring our joyful submission to His eternal rule.
