Vulnerability

Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: SHAPE

Scripture: And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. – 2 Corinthians 12:9

We often labor under the misconception that to be useful for God, we must project an image of strength and self-sufficiency. However, Paul’s experience reminds us that our weaknesses are not obstacles to God’s work; they are the very soil where His power takes root. When we hide our struggles, we rely on our own finite resources, but when we are vulnerable, we invite the power of Christ to rest upon us. It is in the humble admission of our limits that we finally open the door for God’s transformative strength to be displayed.

Today, stop trying to perform for others. Identify the area of your life where you feel most inadequate or discouraged. Instead of viewing that infirmity as a failure, view it as a holy opportunity for Christ to display His power. By being honest about your limits, you release the burden of perfectionism and step into the true, liberating strength that only comes from His sufficient grace.
