Unity in the Body

Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Worship God

Scripture: Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! – Psalm 133:1 (KJV)

Unity in the body of Christ is ‘good and pleasant,’ but it is also a powerful witness to the world. We are not called to be a uniform group of identical thinkers, but a unified body of diverse believers connected by one Spirit. True unity requires us to prioritize our shared identity in Christ above our secondary differences. It is cultivated through humility, forgiveness, and the deliberate decision to assume the best about one another.

When you enter the church today come with an intentional mission to promote harmony. Look for someone who is lonely offer a genuine word of encouragement and let go of petty grievances. By actively seeking to build up the body you make the environment ‘pleasant’ for the Spirit of God to dwell in. Your attitude of love is a critical component of the church’s health; let your life be a catalyst for the unity that honors our Savior.

Prompt: As you gather with other believers today, what can you do to promote harmony and love within your church family?
