Transforming Your Mind

Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Equip

Scripture: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. – Romans 12:2

Our minds are constantly being shaped by the messages we consume. If we are not intentionally renewing our minds with the Word of God, we are inevitably being ‘conformed’ to the patterns and philosophies of this world. Transformation is a deliberate act of choosing to filter our thoughts through the lens of Scripture rather than the lens of culture. A renewed mind is the only way to discern the ‘good, acceptable, and perfect will of God’ in a world that is often hostile to it.

Take an honest look at the ‘input’ you allow into your mind. Are you fueling your thoughts with the truth of the Gospel or are you drowning in a constant stream of secular news social media noise and worldly cynicism? Today commit to a ‘mental fast’—cut out the clutter and fill that space with intentional time in Scripture. When you prioritize God’s truth, you will find that your worldview shifts from anxious confusion to godly clarity. A transformed mind is the start of a transformed life.

Prompt: What primary sources are shaping your thoughts and worldview today?

Action Step: The Equip module emphasizes that spiritual transformation begins with what we allow into our minds.

Next Step: Replace one hour of secular media consumption today with reading Scripture or a Christian book.
