Time Management

Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Practice

Scripture: See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. – Ephesians 5:15-16 (KJV)

Time is a finite resource entrusted to us by God, and ‘redeeming the time’ requires us to walk with wisdom and intentionality. In a world full of distractions, it is easy to let the days slip away on things that have no eternal significance. Walking ‘circumspectly’ means living with spiritual awareness, constantly evaluating whether our daily schedule reflects the priorities of Heaven or the pressures of a culture that is often opposed to God’s values.

Good stewardship of time is not about being busy; it is about being productive in the ways that matter most to the Father. Take an honest inventory of your typical week and identify the habits that do not serve your spiritual growth or your mission. By realigning your schedule to include time for prayer service and rest you acknowledge that every hour belongs to Him and you use it to bear fruit for His glory.

Prompt: How are you currently spending the time God has entrusted to you?

Action Step: The Practice of spiritual disciplines includes managing our time wisely for the glory of God.

Next Step: Track your time for one day to see exactly where your hours are going.
