The Will of God

Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Theology

Scripture: For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: – 1 Thessalonians 4:3

We often agonize over the will of God regarding our careers, our location, or our future, but Scripture clearly anchors the will of God in our sanctification. God is far more interested in who you are becoming than in what you are doing. His will is for you to be set apart, purged of the patterns of the world, and conformed to the image of His Son. When you shift your focus from ‘What should I do?’ to ‘Who should I be?’, your daily choices take on a new, eternal weight.

Every decision you face—from the media you consume to the way you treat others—is an opportunity to pursue this sanctification. When you understand that holiness is His primary will you gain a filter that cuts through the noise of confusion. You are no longer just making choices; you are participating in the divine work of becoming holy. Trust that as you focus on your sanctification God will lead you exactly where He wants you to go.
