The Omnipotence of God

Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Theology

Scripture: Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: – Jeremiah 32:17

The God who spoke the stars into existence and sustains the physics of the entire universe is the same God who oversees your life. Jeremiah’s prayer reminds us that there is nothing ‘too hard’ for the Lord. Our perspective is often limited by our current circumstances and our finite understanding, leading us to believe that certain doors are closed forever or certain hearts are beyond reach. But omnipotence means that the barriers we see as insurmountable are merely opportunities for the Lord to demonstrate His sovereignty.

Identify the situation that feels impossible right now. Whether it is a relational stalemate a financial crisis or a spiritual battle bring it before the Creator of heaven and earth. Remember that He is not limited by your resources or your timeline. When you pray with the knowledge of His omnipotence your requests transition from expressions of panic to declarations of trust. He is the God of the impossible—let your prayer today reflect that confidence.
