The Intercession of Christ
Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Theology
Scripture: Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. – Romans 8:34 (KJV)
There is profound peace in knowing that your standing before God does not rely solely on your own prayers or your own perceived righteousness. The risen, glorified Jesus is at the right hand of the Father, actively advocating for you. He knows your weaknesses, your struggles, and your deepest needs, and He takes them before the throne of heaven. You are never left to fend for yourself in your spiritual life; you are being covered by the prayers of the High Priest.
When you feel defeated by sin or overwhelmed by the weight of your own failures, remember this: the One who died for you is still pleading for you. This reality destroys condemnation and replaces it with relentless hope. You can walk through this day with your head held high, knowing that the most powerful voice in the universe is interceding on your behalf.
Prompt: How does it change your daily outlook knowing that Jesus is actively praying for you right now?
Action Step: Sound Theology teaches that Christ’s ongoing intercession guarantees our security and access to God.
