The Glory of God

Scripture: Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. – 1 Corinthians 10:31

The glory of God is not reserved for Sunday mornings or spiritual activities; it is the ultimate objective for every waking moment of our lives. Paul’s instruction to do everything—even eating and drinking—to the glory of God changes the very nature of our existence. It means that the mundane tasks of life, like work, chores, and conversation, become acts of worship when they are performed with the intent to honor the Creator. When we work or live with an awareness of His presence, the ‘ordinary’ becomes infused with eternal significance.

Today pick one mundane task you usually rush through and offer it to God as an act of worship. Whether it is washing dishes answering emails or driving to work do it with excellence and a conscious heart of gratitude. As you align your daily actions with the purpose of glorifying Him, you will find that the routine of your life becomes a continuous, joyful liturgy of praise.

Prompt: How can you make even your ordinary, everyday tasks an act of worship to God?

Action Step: Everything we do should be aimed at making God's character and greatness known to the world.

Next Step: Pause before your next task today and ask God to help you do it for His glory.
