The Cross of Christ
Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Theology
Scripture: For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. – 1 Corinthians 1:18 (KJV)
The Cross is the central axis upon which history turns, but it must also be the center of our personal existence. To the world, sacrifice and self-denial may seem like foolishness, but to the believer, the Cross is the manifest power of God—the ultimate demonstration of love, justice, and redemption. Every decision you face today should be filtered through the lens of what Christ accomplished there; it is the standard by which we measure our values and priorities.
When you prioritize the Cross you align your life with the wisdom of God rather than the values of the culture. It challenges you to put others before yourself to live with humility and to pursue holiness with intensity. Let the reality of the Cross reframe your day reminding you that your life is a sacred trust meant to reflect the power of the One who died so that you might truly live.
Prompt: How does the reality of the cross impact your daily decisions and priorities?
Action Step: Sound Theology centers entirely on the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
Next Step: Spend five minutes meditating on the sacrifice Jesus made for you.
