The Armor of God: Overview
Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Equip
Scripture: Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. – Ephesians 6:11 (KJV)
Spiritual warfare is a reality that every believer faces, but we have been divinely equipped with armor that provides complete protection. To ‘put on’ the armor is a daily, intentional act of faith, requiring us to clothe ourselves in the truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and the Word of God. Without this daily commitment to spiritual preparation, we leave ourselves vulnerable to the subtle deceptions of the enemy.
Equipping yourself is not a one-time event but a lifestyle of vigilance and dependence on the Lord. When you intentionally align your mind and spirit with the resources God has provided, you stand firm not by your own strength but by the power of His might. Stay dressed for battle, knowing that your victory is secured in Christ.
Prompt: Are you actively putting on the whole armor of God or are you leaving yourself exposed to spiritual attacks?
Action Step: To be Equipped means understanding that we are in a spiritual battle that requires spiritual defenses.
Next Step: Identify which piece of the spiritual armor you tend to neglect and ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen you there today.
