Testifying to Family
Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Share
Scripture: Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. – Mark 5:19 (KJV)
Our families are often the hardest mission field because they know our history so well. Yet, the story of what Jesus has done for us—the specific, tangible evidence of His compassion in our lives—is a witness that is difficult to ignore. You don’t need a theology degree to testify; you only need to tell the truth about how He met you, how He changed you, and how He continues to sustain you.
Is there a family member who has been on your heart? Pray for an open door to share your testimony with them. It may not happen in a big, dramatic moment, but rather in a simple, vulnerable conversation about your journey with Christ. When you share ‘how great things the Lord hath done,’ you are pointing them toward the same compassion that is available to them. Be a faithful witness to your own house.
Prompt: Who in your immediate or extended family needs to hear the story of what Jesus has done for you?
Action Step: Sharing the Gospel often begins at home, where our testimony is backed by a transformed life they can witness.
Next Step: Pray for a specific unsaved family member today, asking God for an open door to share your testimony.
