Stewardship of Time and Talents

Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Equip

Scripture: As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. – 1 Peter 4:10 (KJV)

Stewardship is the recognition that nothing we have is truly ours; it is all on loan from the Giver of grace. Every talent, every hour, and every skill you possess is a manifold—a diverse—manifestation of God’s grace intended to be shared. When we hoard our time or talents for our own success, we bury our treasure in the sand. When we release them into the service of the body, we multiply them for the Kingdom.

Ask yourself: ‘What is one thing I am good at that I could use to bless someone else this week?’ It doesn’t have to be a big platform. Whether it’s organizing, encouraging, cooking, or listening, your gifts were given to build the church. Step out and use them. As you give them away, you will find that God refreshes your own spirit through the joy of serving.

Prompt: Are you using the unique gifts and time God has given you to serve others, or only yourself?

Action Step: The Equip module calls us to be faithful managers of the resources, abilities, and time entrusted to us.

Next Step: Identify one talent you have and find a way to use it to bless someone else today.
