Standing Firm in Victory

Scripture: But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. – 1 Corinthians 15:57 (KJV)

Most of us live as though we are trying to *earn* victory through our own spiritual exertion, but the Gospel teaches that we *possess* victory through Christ’s finished work. Fighting *for* victory creates anxiety and fear of defeat; fighting *from* victory creates peace and bold endurance. When we realize the enemy is already a defeated foe, our prayers, our resistance to temptation, and our persistence in trials change. We are no longer struggling to win the war; we are simply standing on the ground He has already captured.

When you face spiritual opposition today, start by thanking God for the victory He has already secured. Don’t let the noise of your current trial distract you from the reality of the Cross. Approach your battles with the confidence of someone who knows the end of the story. You are on the winning side, and the strength you need to stand firm is already yours in Christ Jesus.

Prompt: What does it mean for your daily life to fight spiritual battles from a place of victory rather than for victory?

Action Step: Equipping involves understanding that Christ has already won the war, allowing us to stand firm against the enemy’s defeated tactics.

Next Step: Write down 1 Corinthians 15:57 and place it somewhere visible to remind you of Christ’s victory today.
