Scripture: Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. – Ephesians 6:16 (KJV)
The shield of faith is your primary defense against the enemy’s attempts to destabilize your walk with Christ. In our spiritual armor, faith acts as an active, movable shield that can intercept and extinguish the ‘fiery darts’ of doubt, fear, and discouragement that are aimed at your heart. These darts are often subtle, designed to make you question God’s goodness or His plan for your life; faith is the unwavering belief that God is who He says He is, regardless of what you feel or see.
To wield this shield effectively you must keep your eyes fixed on the promises of Scripture. When thoughts of anxiety or disbelief arise raise the shield of faith by reciting the truths of God’s Word over your life. Do not let the enemy’s arrows land in your heart; trust in the faithfulness of your Father and watch how He quenches every attack thrown your way today.
