Sharing Your Personal Story

Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Share

Scripture: But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: – 1 Peter 3:15 (KJV)

Sharing the Gospel is a natural and necessary expression of our gratitude for God’s transformative work in our lives. Peter commands us to always be ready to articulate the hope we have in Christ. This readiness stems from a sanctified heart—one that is fully submitted to the Lord. As we focus on the Share aspect of our discipleship, we realize that our personal story of redemption is one of the most powerful and relatable tools for evangelism we possess.

By communicating what Christ has done for us with meekness and reverence, we fulfill the Great Commission. We bridge the gap between our personal spiritual growth and God’s mission to reach a lost world. When we share our personal story, we invite others to witness the tangible reality of God’s grace, opening the door for the Holy Spirit to work in their hearts.

Prompt: Are you ready to share what Christ has done for you if asked today?

Action Step: To Share doesn't require a degree; it just requires a genuine story of what God has done in your life.

Next Step: Write down a brief summary of your testimony to keep fresh in your mind.
