Resting in God’s Timing
Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Rest & Reflect
Scripture: Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. – Psalm 27:14 (KJV)
‘Wait’ is perhaps the most difficult word in the Christian vocabulary. We live in an age of instant gratification, but God is a God of seasons. When we rush, we are often trying to force a fruit to appear before the season is right. Waiting is not a sign that God has forgotten you; it is a vital part of His shaping process. It builds ‘good courage’ and strengthens the heart, preparing you for the very blessing you are so anxious to receive.
What are you currently trying to force or hurry? Whether it’s a career step, a relationship, or an answer to a deep prayer, take a step back. Release the steering wheel. Pray: ‘Lord, I trust Your calendar more than my own.’ Use your rest today to find strength in His pace rather than your own panic. He is never late, and He is working on things you cannot see.
Prompt: In what area of your life do you need to stop rushing and start resting in God’s perfect timing today?
Action Step: Sabbath rest reminds us that we are not the masters of time, and we can trust the Creator’s schedule over our own.
