Reaching the Unreached

Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Share

Scripture: Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation: – Romans 15:20 (KJV)

Paul’s ambition was to take the light of the Gospel into the darkest corners of the earth—places where the name of Jesus had never been spoken. This is the heart of mission: a burning desire to see every tribe, tongue, and nation encounter the love of God. While not everyone is called to be a cross-cultural missionary, every disciple is called to have a missionary heart. If we are only concerned with those who already know Christ, we have lost the spirit of the One who came to seek and save the lost.

Who in your circle or outside of it is currently without the light of the Gospel? Pray today that God would give you His eyes for the unreached. Maybe there is a neighbor, a coworker, or an entire community in your city that hasn’t heard the truth. Ask the Lord to use you to break the foundation, to speak the name of Jesus, and to plant the seed of hope where it is needed most.

Prompt: Do you have a heart for those who have never heard the name of Jesus, whether across the street or across the globe?

Action Step: Sharing the Gospel must include a strategic vision to reach the unreached and marginalized in our world.

Next Step: Pray specifically for an unreached people group today.
