Preparing the Heart
Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Worship God
Scripture: Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the Lord our God is holy. – Psalm 99:9 (KJV)
Worship is a profound act of reverence and adoration for God, recognizing His holiness, provision, and salvation through Jesus Christ. To ‘exalt the Lord our God’ is to intentionally elevate His presence above our earthly concerns, recognizing His supreme majesty. As we focus on Worship God today, whether individually or corporately, we must transition from the noise of the world into the sacred reality of His presence.
Preparing our hearts involves confession, adoration, and an eager expectation to encounter the Living God. It requires us to honor Him not just with our lips, but in spirit and in truth. When we prepare our hearts for worship, we align ourselves with the heavenly chorus, offering ourselves fully to the One who alone is worthy of all praise and glory.
Prompt: Is your heart prepared to encounter the Living God today?
Action Step: Sunday is a holy day, set apart for the corporate worship of God. As you prepare for service, ask God to speak to you through the Word and the community. Use this day to reset your focus for the week of S.T.E.P.S. ahead.
