Multigenerational Worship

Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Worship God

Scripture: One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts. – Psalm 145:4 (KJV)

The church is a multi-generational tapestry, intended by God to be a place where wisdom is passed down and faith is fueled by the experiences of others. Too often, we stay within our age cohorts, missing out on the richness of a broader perspective. Psalm 145 calls us to bridge the gaps, declaring God’s works from one generation to the next. Whether you are young learning from the seasoned, or seasoned encouraging the young, your interaction is a vital part of the worship experience.

As you gather today be intentional about looking outside your immediate circle of friends. Sit with someone older or younger ask them how God has been faithful in their life or share a brief word of encouragement. When we honor one another across generations we demonstrate the unity of the body and create a vibrant culture where the mighty acts of God are celebrated by all.

Prompt: How can you encourage or learn from a believer of a different generation during corporate worship today?

Action Step: Worshiping God is enriched when the entire family of God, young and old, praises Him together.
