Irresistible Grace

Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Theology

Scripture: All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. – John 6:37 (KJV)

Irresistible grace is the comforting realization that our salvation does not rest on the shaky foundation of our own desire, but on the sovereign, pursuing love of God. Before we ever sought Him, He was drawing us. This truth removes the burden of performance and fills us with awe; we are here not because we were smarter or better than others, but because He chose to pursue us. When we realize that He will ‘in no wise cast out’ any who come to Him, our security becomes absolute.

Reflect today on the ways God has pursued you throughout your life. Think of the moments He opened your eyes, the people He placed in your path, and the persistent pull of His love. This shouldn’t lead to arrogance but to a profound sense of wonder. You are a trophy of His grace, held securely by the One who loves you more than you could ever imagine.

Prompt: How does the knowledge that God actively draws us to Himself increase your awe of His salvation?

Action Step: Theology anchors our faith, teaching that God’s grace is powerfully effective in drawing His chosen people to salvation.

Next Step: Take a moment to thank God for the specific ways He drew you to faith in Christ.
