Intercessory Prayer

Scripture: I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; – 1 Timothy 2:1 (KJV)
Intercessory prayer is a profound act of love that extends God’s grace to others. 1 Timothy 2:1 exhorts us to make ‘supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks’ for all people, recognizing that God uses our prayers to bring about His purposes in the lives of others. When we pray for someone’s salvation, we are not trying to manipulate God, but to align ourselves with His heart for that individual. It is a powerful way to participate in the Great Commission, even when we cannot directly share the Gospel ourselves.
Who is that one person God has placed on your heart for whom you are consistently praying? Perhaps it is a family member, a friend, or a colleague who has not yet experienced the saving grace of Jesus. Continue to bring them before the Lord with persistence and faith. Your prayers are a vital part of God’s plan to draw them to Himself. Remember that God’s faithfulness in answering prayer is a testament to His own desire for all to be saved.
Prompt: Who is the one person you are consistently praying for to come to know Jesus?
Action Step: The SHARE module reminds us that evangelism begins with intercession. We must actively pray for non-Christians before we speak to them.
Next Step: Write down the names of three unbelievers and commit to praying for them daily.
