Integrity
Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: SHAPE
Scripture: The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them. – Proverbs 11:3 (KJV)
Integrity is the alignment of our internal convictions with our external actions; it is being the same person when no one is watching as when we are standing on a public stage. The world often encourages us to compartmentalize our lives, separating our professional conduct from our spiritual beliefs, but the Bible demands wholeness. A life without integrity is like a building with a cracked foundation; it may look sturdy for a season, but it lacks the internal strength to endure the storms of life.
Today, invite the Holy Spirit to reveal the ‘hidden’ areas of your life where your conduct does not match your confession. If you are struggling with hypocrisy, stop trying to hide it—bring it to the light. Integrity is not about being perfect but about being honest. When you repent of the small compromises in private, you build a character that can be guided by God’s wisdom rather than being destroyed by the eventual collapse of a double life.
Prompt: Do your actions in private align perfectly with the beliefs you profess in public?
Action Step: The SHAPE module emphasizes that spiritual maturity is built on a foundation of consistent, godly character and integrity.
Next Step: Identify one area where you are tempted to compromise your integrity and ask God for strength to stand firm.
