Half-Year Growth Reflection

Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Rest & Reflect

Scripture: Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. – 2 Corinthians 13:5 (KJV)

Mid-year is the perfect time for a ‘spiritual check-up.’ Paul calls us to examine our faith, not to breed doubt, but to ensure we are still walking in the reality of Christ’s presence. It is easy to slide into autopilot, drifting along without taking inventory of our souls. Today, take a deep breath and look back: where have you seen Him work in your heart? Where has your prayer life deepened? Where have you seen victory over a recurring struggle?

Equally important: where have you stalled? Is there a habit you need to break or a discipline you need to jumpstart? Be honest with God. Course correction is not a sign of failure; it is a sign of a heart that is committed to the finish line. Celebrate your growth, repent where necessary, and commit the next six months to Him with a renewed focus.

Prompt: As we reach the midpoint of the year, what specific areas of spiritual growth can you celebrate, and where do you need course correction?

Action Step: Sabbath rest provides the necessary pause to reflect on God’s faithfulness over the past six months and realign our hearts for the future.
