Gathering of the Saints
Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Worship God
Scripture: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. – Hebrews 10:25 (KJV)
The gathering of the saints is a vital lifeline of encouragement in a world that is constantly trying to pull our hearts away from the Truth. We do not attend church simply to ‘get’ something; we attend to ‘give’ something—to exhort, to provoke, and to build up our brothers and sisters. Your presence and your words of encouragement are tools that God uses to keep the faith of others strong as ‘the day’ approaches.
When you walk into church today, pray that God would use you to build someone else up. Don’t look for someone to entertain you; look for someone to encourage. A sincere word about how you’ve seen God’s grace in their life, a prayer for their current struggle, or simply a warm, intentional greeting can be a massive source of strength. We are a family, and today is your day to help keep the family strong.
Prompt: How can you intentionally encourage and exhort a fellow believer while gathered with the church today?
Action Step: Communing with other Christians strengthens faith, provides encouragement, and promotes unity as believers gather to inspire one another.
