Fighting with Faith and Authority
Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Equip
Scripture: Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. – Ephesians 6:16 (KJV)
The shield of faith is an active piece of equipment; it must be lifted, held, and positioned in response to the ‘fiery darts’ of the enemy. These darts are often specific—accusations about your past, fears about your future, or lies about your identity. They are intended to pierce your sense of security and spark a wildfire of doubt in your soul. Faith is the choice to trust God’s perspective over the enemy’s suggestions, effectively ‘quenching’ those arrows before they find a resting place in your heart.
Don’t let the enemy’s voice linger in your mind today. Identify the specific lies or fears you are facing and raise your shield by declaring the truth of Scripture. When doubt says you are a failure faith says you are a new creation. When fear says you are alone faith says He will never leave you. Your victory is not in your own ability to fight but in the power of the One in whom you believe.
Prompt: What 'fiery darts' of doubt or fear is the enemy throwing at you today?
Action Step: The Equip module trains us to use our God-given spiritual authority to stand firm against darkness.
Next Step: Declare a promise from Scripture out loud over a situation causing you anxiety.
