Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Rest & Reflect

Scripture: And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children… – Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (KJV)

Passing on the faith is not a formal curriculum but an organic, daily practice of teaching and sharing God’s goodness within the intimacy of our homes. The command to ‘teach them diligently’ implies a lifestyle of intentionality, where the truths of God are woven into the fabric of our everyday conversations, joys, and struggles. Whether with your biological children or your spiritual family, these connections are the primary garden where faith is nurtured.

Today look for opportunities to point those closest to you toward the character of God. It doesn’t have to be a grand speech; it can be a shared meal a prayer together or simply a conversation about how you saw God move this week. By fostering these deep connections and saturating your time together with His Word you create a legacy of faith that transcends generations. Make your family time a space for the gospel to breathe.

Prompt: How can you intentionally connect with your family or spiritual family to share God's goodness today?

Action Step: Sabbath rest includes reflecting on God's faithfulness with those closest to us.
