Enjoying Creation
Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Rest & Reflect
Scripture: The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. – Psalm 19:1 (KJV)
Nature is a silent, grand sermon that continuously proclaims the majesty and artistry of our Creator. When we step outside to witness the heavens, the mountains, or the intricate details of a field, we are reminded that the same God who orders the galaxies is the One who cares for the details of our lives. Spending time in creation provides a necessary ‘reset’ for our souls, pulling us out of the confines of our man-made problems and into the vast, orderly presence of God.
Use today to intentionally enjoy the beauty of the world around you. As you observe the majesty of creation let it deepen your trust in the One who holds it all together. His care for the birds of the air and the flowers of the field is a powerful promise of His constant faithful care for you. Let your heart be stilled and your spirit refreshed by the grandeur of His handiwork.
Prompt: How does spending time in nature help you appreciate God's majesty and care for you?
Action Step: Sabbath rest allows us to pause, step away from our screens, and reflect on the beauty of the Creator's handiwork.
