Compassion Ministry

Scripture: But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? – 1 John 3:17 (KJV)
True love is never passive; it is an active response to the needs of those around us. 1 John 3:17 presents a piercing question about the reality of our faith: can we claim to love God if we are indifferent to the struggles of our brothers and sisters? Compassion ministry begins when we ‘see’—when we move past our own busyness to notice the person who is hurting, lacking, or struggling right in front of us.
Look around you. Is there a coworker who is overwhelmed a neighbor who is lonely or a family member who is exhausted? Compassion doesn’t always require wealth; it requires a willingness to give of your time your resources and your presence. Today, take one practical step to meet a need you have identified. By acting on your compassion, you make the love of God visible, serving as His hands and feet in a world that is desperately waiting to be seen and helped.
Prompt: Who in your immediate sphere of influence is in need, and how can you practically help them today?
Action Step: Sharing the love of Christ often begins with meeting tangible physical or emotional needs.
Next Step: Find a practical way to bless someone who is struggling financially or emotionally this week.
