Building Bridges

Discipleship S.T.E.P.S.: Share

Scripture: To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. – 1 Corinthians 9:22 (KJV)

Building bridges to those who are far from God requires the humble wisdom of the Apostle Paul—a willingness to set aside our preferences and pride to better understand the needs of others. Being ‘all things to all men’ does not mean compromising the Gospel, but rather meeting people where they are, showing genuine interest in their struggles, and communicating truth in a way that resonates with their specific context. It is about building enough relational capital to earn the right to speak into their lives.

Authentic connection is the prerequisite for sharing the gospel effectively. When you approach people with the heart of a servant rather than a judge walls come down and hearts open up. Identify someone today who needs to see the love of Christ in action and ask the Lord to give you the wisdom to adapt your approach so that you might share the hope of the gospel in a way they can hear.

Prompt: How can you adapt your approach to connect with someone far from God today?

Action Step: Sharing our faith requires us to build relational bridges without compromising the truth of the gospel.

Next Step: Ask a non-believing coworker or neighbor a thoughtful question about their background or interests.
