Answering Objections

Scripture: But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: – 1 Peter 3:15
To ‘sanctify the Lord God in your hearts’ is to give Him the place of ultimate authority, so that when someone asks about our hope, our answer flows from a settled conviction. We aren’t called to be argumentative or intellectually combative; we are called to be ready with an answer delivered in meekness and fear. Your story of why you trust in Jesus is a powerful tool, but your attitude during the conversation is equally important. Meekness disarms critics, and confidence in God anchors your testimony.
Don’t wait for a crisis to prepare. Think through the core of your faith: Why do you have hope? Can you articulate how Jesus changed your life? By reflecting on these truths now you ensure that you are ready when the door of conversation opens. Your hope is not a private opinion; it is a public truth that the world needs to hear.
Prompt: How prepared do you feel to explain the hope of the gospel to a skeptic?
Action Step: Sharing your faith requires preparation and reliance on the Holy Spirit.
