“Go ye therefore, and make disciples”
The purpose of this program is to foster spiritual development and active learning, encouraging individuals to reflect on their discipleship journeys and apply biblical teachings in everyday life.
The Bible encourages us to grow in our spiritual knowledge and practice:
“Be diligent in these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy progress may be manifest unto all.” (1 Timothy 4:15)
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 3:18)
“Wherefore leaving the doctrine of the first principles of Christ, let us press on unto perfection (maturity)…” (Hebrews 6:1)
DEN provides essential lessons that cover salvation, holiness, biblical doctrines, spiritual disciplines, and the importance of sharing faith with others. Each section builds on the previous one and is grounded in scripture, offering actionable steps to cultivate spiritual maturity leading toward a holistic understanding of discipleship and effective evangelism.
Central to this process is the “STEPS Discipleship Assessment,” a systematic tool that helps participants evaluate their spiritual growth and identify areas for improvement. By scoring your progress across five key sections, you can understand your discipleship level—ranging from Beginning Disciple to Multiplying Disciple—and receive tailored recommendations for growth.
Whether you are just starting your faith journey or seeking to deepen your existing walk with God, “S.T.E.P.S. of Discipleship” provides a robust framework for intentional growth and discipleship, empowering you to fulfill your calling as a disciple of Christ.
The STEPS Discipleship program is available in several formats. In addition to this online website, participants can purchase the program including the STEPS Discipleship Assessment as:
The DEN Disciples is an animated series that explores questions about being a Disciple of Jesus Christ.
The elements of Shape enable disciples to understand who God created them to be.
The elements of Theology enable disciples to grow in knowledge and understanding of scripture and faith.
The elements of Equip enable disciples to learn how to grow as a disciple and develop skills for service.
The elements of Practice enable disciples to walk as a disciple and properly observe the commands of Jesus.
The element of Share enable disciples to fulfill the commission by making other disciples.
It is important that as Disciples we invite and include God in our pursuit of growing in faith and knowledge. Based on these scriptures: Matthew 13:13-16, Acts 26:17-18, and Isaiah 6:9-10, you are encouraged to pray this prayer, or one similar, before you open the Word of God or any lesson that you want to be quickened and enlightened in your understanding. God bless your pursuit of Him!
Heavenly Father, open my eyes that I may see, open my ears that I may hear, open my heart that I may feel, and open my mind that I may perceive and understand what You want to teach me. Guide me by the Holy Spirit into the truth of your word. Give me wisdom to trust and obey You today. In the name of Jesus I pray.

For beginners studying the Bible, it’s helpful to have a structured approach and access to resources that foster understanding and engagement.
Choosing the best Bible translation for personal study depends on a few key factors, including your theological perspective, your reading style, and the purpose of your study.
The historical and theological basis for the different translations of the Bible is rooted in both the complex development of the biblical text over time and the approaches taken by theologians, scholars, and translators to render these texts into different languages.
Interpreting the Bible is an essential task for Christians seeking to understand God’s Word and apply its truths to their lives. Over the centuries, Christians have developed a variety of methods to interpret Scripture correctly and faithfully.
